Cuppers reaches semi-final stage

This year's Slaughter and May Cuppers Competition continues to be dominated by the best goalkeepers in the University as the initial twenty-eight teams have been whittled down to the final four.

Nicola Ielpo, who made his first Centaurs appearance on Saturday, has been grabbing the headlines with his penalty heroics for Teddy Hall, while Blues goalkeeper David Robinson has yet to concede a goal in Worcester's procession through the early rounds - most recently in the quarters against Wadham for whom 2005 Centaurs keeper Paul McMahon performed brilliantly to concede only three. LMH boast Joe di Capite between their sticks, who starred in the Colleges XI Varsity victory a year ago, whilst Tom Monteath of St Catz, though still to represent the University, has been extremely impressive in his fresher season.

The Cuppers semi-final draw has separated the two best Varsity-eligible keepers in the University, as Robinson faces St Catz with Worcester, while Teddy Hall's Ielpo will attempt to becalm free-scoring LMH. The possibility of an enticing clash in Cuppers final remains!

Slaughter and May Cuppers Semi-Finals:

LMH v Teddy Hall
St Catz v Worcester

Ties to be played on Friday 15th February.

The intention is to play them at neutral venues, though this may not be feasible.
