Biography
Mickey boasts an impressive CV starting as youth team coach at Oxford United, he was promoted to manage the "U's" after manager Malcolm Shotton resigned in 1999. Mickey's tenure at the Manor Ground was relatively short and he was replaced in February 2000 as the board looked for a more experienced league manager. This allowed Mickey to become head coach at the university for 3 seasons starting in 2001 - 3 seasons in which he gained 3 varsity victories. Mickey left to become assistant manager at Doncaster Rovers - where he was an integral part of a sucessful period under David Penney. Mickey left Doncaster amidst rumours of a rift between chairman John Ryan and his manager and moved back to the Oxford area. He returns to the university set-up to help out former teammate Phill Heath.
In his younger days Mickey was often mistaken for Kevin Keegan, not for his silky skills but for his permed hair. His biggest claim to fame was once beating Maythew Rigby in a sprint.
